Design-for-manufacture notes before tooling

What Ishaan Industries reviews on a customer drawing before cutting a mould — wall thickness, shut-offs, material and whether the part belongs in plastic injection or rubber moulding.

Catch problems on the drawing

Our engineering support is design-for-manufacture input: mouldability, wall-thickness consistency, and material selection, flagged before tooling begins. That is the same review described on our Capabilities page — not a separate paid consultancy product unless we agree it in writing.

What we look for

Undercuts that force extra actions; walls that are too thin to fill or too thick to pack without sink; missing draft; sharp internal corners; and materials that do not match the duty (for example a cosmetic ABS cover asked to take a structural load). We will say so before steel is cut.

Prototype tooling

Where the design is still moving, we can build low-cost prototype tooling so you can hold functional parts before committing to production tooling. Share the quantity you need for validation and the dimensions that must be right on the first shot.

Job work on an existing mould

If you already have a tool, we can run plastic moulding job work on it after a condition and mouldability check. Send photographs of the tool and a sample part if you have them, plus the compound you ran last.

Specifications on this site describe general capability. Your part is confirmed against a drawing or sample. Request a Quote or read the FAQ.
